Located in the beautiful north central portion of Colorado, North Park and Jackson County offer the exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities in spectacular mountain scenery. The terrain varies from 12,000 foot glacier carved peaks to beautiful lush river valleys. We even have sand dunes in the park.

Be it summer, fall or winter, you will find that North Park has unequaled natural beauty and a true "down home, western" atmosphere. It is a hunting , fishing and outdoor recreation paradise. There are hundreds of open lakes and miles and miles of trout stream. The park abounds with beaver dams teeming with fat Brook Trout and excellent big game hunting as well.

There is an abundance of "public lands" in national forests, state forest, Bureau of Land Management, state trust lands, state parks and ranches. State and national forest lands surround the Powderhorn Cabins. You will find unique historical, natural and cultural sites and some of the best off-highway vehicle, mountain bike and hiking trails in Colorado. Maps are available in the office.

Wildlife prevails...including moose, elk, deer, antelope, bear, beaver, coyotes, bobcat, fox, grouse, ducks and geese and about every species of trout found in Colorado.
